The Solstice 100
A challenging off-road adventure
June 27th, 2026, Shropshire
What is the Solstice 100?
This is the original 100 mile/km (or a shorter 50) mountain bike/gravel sportive that takes place close to the Summer Solstice and marks the longest day of the year – in daylight hours and possibly on the saddle!
The Solstice 100 is back for an 11th year and we are are taking it on the road! The plan is, every other year, to take the Solstice event to different areas of the UK.
For 2026 we’ve chosen one of our favourite riding areas – Shropshire. This area has a lot to offer riders including trail centres and an extensive ROW network reaching 500m elevation in several locations. We’ve used Shropshire a lot in our long distance routes, including LEJOG off-road, the North-South Divide and the Bull Ring 200. Creating these routes means we have pinpointed some great trails including many less commonly-known spots.
The route, around 75% off-road, will consist of bridleways, byways, double & singletrack, purpose-built MTB trails, cycle paths, forest tracks and quiet lanes, all with a wide variety of surfaces. We’ve reduced the distance to 100km as there is a monstrous 7000ft of elevation to endure! Are you up for the challenge?
A camping option (tents, vans etc) has also been added to this year’s event if you fancy making a weekend out of it? – this can be booked alongside your ride entry. Family and friends are all welcome.
Similar to last year, we are once again donating to charity this year!
Our chosen charity is Animals in Need Northamptonshire

– What time does event start?
Signing on will be from 8.00am to 8.55am* The event will be a mass start scheduled for 9.00am*
*Times TBC
– I’m planning on arriving the night before, is there anywhere to camp/stay?
Yes, the start/finish is at a camp site, with hot showers and toilets etc. You can stay here before and/or after the event and can add this option to your entry. There is also a YHA and a pub nearby.
– Is the route signed?
No, however, using the GPX files (which will be emailed to entrants before the event), will be the best and least time-consuming method of navigation. Fully detailed OS maps will also be provided to make navigation easier, especially if looking for an alternative.

Yes, unless event is sold out. (NB. On day entry will be £30 – cash only)
